Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day

​Rumor has it that today marks the anniversary of Rome being founded in 753 BC. According to legend, it was the birth of the twins Romulus and Remus that kicked off a series of events that resulted in a King ousting a brother, whose daughter, impregnated by the war God Mars, had given birth to rival claimants to the throne, who were sent to be drowned in the Tiber River, but survived and washed ashore, to be suckled by a she-wolf and carried off to what’s now Rome, thus establishing the settlement of Rome.
